A Little up date to this tail at the end.
Feds allege bias at rental complex pleas read I am mentioned in this article. And will most likely be thrown out of the apartments for it.
Ok so many of you know we live in apartments, do we like it no. not for the normal reasons of apartments but for the lack of maintenance and the owner. Now I am going to tell a story that is funny to us. A little back round in this we have lived her a little under 2 years. And we have heard so many bad things of this web site now pay close action to what they say about the manager of said apartments.

And below is the dry wall that the owner said is fine, and doesn't look bad. also this is the kind of dry wall that will grow mold if not fixed, now the leak is gone but the nasty dry wall stays because I quote "there is no mold here you would be able to see it". Not true mold grows were there is very little to no light, which would be above the spot not were you could see it.
Ok so are story starts on the 1st of the month when are rent is do. So we go in to the office and the owner is not there, but a new manager like the forth or fifth in the less then two year we have been here. So we ask about when are dry wall is going to be fixed she has no clue she tells us that she is trying to get a dry wall guy. (We have had 4 different dry wall people come in and look) She then goes on to tell us that she is having problems with finding any dry wall people in the area. (the last dry wall guy that came in I asked him and he told me that the owner dose not pay you for work that you do so no one will do the work) we go a few rounds with her and she tells us that she is really trying, that she left a job of 6 years for this head ache. Now we don’t really blame her she is not the one that has to ok this owner is and well he will not do that. So we keep talking to her and she tells us not to get to pushy with the owner he will sue people and he has lots of money to do so. Well we went on to tell her all about how the kid is allergic to mold and we can not have this wet plaster in the apartment, we need it fixed now. She writes down all the information and tells us that she will talk to the owner and try to get him to fix this stuff. So we go about are day.

And below another picture from are bed room that is also fine, said the owner. Yes it is a whole a hole were the water leaked so bad it was poring in and ate the dry wall, all the dry wall that is missing was on the floor. No this is not a hole that was punched in or pushed in, it was poring in and ate the shit right out.
We stop back at the apartment so I can take a piss be fore we go to the pet store, I go in to the apartment and see there is a message I listen to the message and it is the manager in the office calling us she asks that we call her back. So we do so as we leave to go to the pet store. She informs us that the owner wants to come see the problems, (he has seen those 2 or 3 times already). And that he will be her in a half hour. So we go in to clean up mode and wait for him.
He shows up and comes in we asked him why the problems have not been fixed, he said that he is trying to get it done but he is having problems with finding some one, he said that no one wants to do the little jobs. We know that that has nothing to do with it; it is more like no one wants to work with this ass hole. So we bring up we have had to take the kid to after hours clinic because of the mold that is growing in the ceiling were it leaked and was never replaced. At this the owner goes ballistic saying don’t you say that because of the dry was that she is sick, and then he starts raising his voice to use saying there is no mold you can see mold, (now we know from the house mold dose not grow in sunlight) he keeps going on in saying please don't blame her going to the ER on the apartments it had nothing to do with it. Then he goes on to sell us there is nothing wrong with the dry wall it looks fine. Now I am sorry but if that shit was in my house it would have been fixed. (Now that statement coming form the person that made the cleaning people come back out to the apartment before we moved in to pull the stove out and clean behind it aging).
So well he just keeps getting very nasty we the wife, so this makes me was to just beat the guy down right there. He dose all this in are home/apartment. So Peaj goes off she tells him that we pay are rent and this is why we pay the rent for things like this to be fixed. And at this he turns tail and starts to run to the door. Now with this I take my cue and start prying, I very nicely tell him that I think the problems he is having is not due to the small jobs as he put it. But more to the fact that all the contractors don't want to work for him do to the fact that he dose not pay them. Now you have to look at the hole picture to really get the feeling he is standing at are door hand on knob and ready to run, he stops looks at me very angry at this and starts to yell at me that he wants names of the people that said this and I tell him I am not going to tell him names. He goes on to say that they are lying and at this point he is so defensive about it I was trying not to laugh at him. He tells me that you should never listen to heir say and that they are lying, (I guess there is a grain of truth in every statement).
Now with that said he tells us that just to make us comfortable he will get it fixed. And that is one peaj nails the dude to the cross and said that it is not to be comfortable that he should fix it we pay are rent and this is what we pay rent for, and that it needs to be fixed. At this he runs from the apartment. Now this dose not end here he sends the maintenance man over the same guy that can't fix a dame thing right. The guy that as admitted to me that he has no idea how to do dry wall. He comes here with 3 little peaces of dry wall,
Now that are manager is pissed off and we are more then pissed off at him. We decide to right fox 2 news you know the problem solvers. So we did so with how he teats his tenets. After sending this and starting to calm down form the entire ruckus. I heir the mail lady come in and put the mail in the box, now this is the norm but what was not the norm is there is some little chick walking around in the building. Now for most that would not be a big deal but what is, is the fact that you have to have a key, now I wait till she goes up starts for I don't like to talk to people much. As soon as I touch the mail box she is there asking if she would talk to me about the apartments, fist thought she is thinking about renting, then she informs me that she is a reporter for the Detroit news. Wow when it rains it pores so we start talking and yes she has a badge. So I invite her in to the apartment and we ask all kind of questions, but the problem is she is doing a story on the apartments having charges agents them for being racial bias. As the article is posted in the first post. I will go no farther in to this. Now on to the maintenance man is here and is trying to fix it. He is doing a really bad job but at lest something is getting done.

And here is another of the dry wall that is in are apartment that is also fine and dose not needed to be fixed. Now this spot is the worst it is in the living room and not only looks really bad, but also is most likely were mold is growing, said spot is discolored very badly which is a sine that mold is most likely growing.
now I know with my name printed it will undoable have many problems with the apartments which will be fun. We are looking for another place to live and do not plan on staying here. But this will be a story for the years. Good times, we are most likely going to call and say we have been discriminated against for the fact that we had to pay so much more for deposit then others. Now with my name being printed and all I am sure he can't really do shit to me so this might get to be fun. Well I hope you enjoy the lovely story of renting, I am sure there will be more to come.
And for a small update on this apartments crap. The hole in the bedroom has been patched very poorly but patched none the less. And the bathroom problem that has been sitting for almost 2 years is not finished and painted. Now I know that with these things being fixed I should no longer bitch about them well tough shit I am going to any way. The problem in the living room is still there and there is no plain in fixing said spot. So I will be calling the health board and see what they have to say. Let's all hope for the best and the apartment manager/ owner gets what he deserves. We like said apartments a lot we like the grounds, and the piece and quite of the buildings but with an owner like this we will not stay.

If that fucker tries to sue you for liable or whatever, or tries to wrongly evict you, just mention to him that you'd be glad to move out as soon as you've brought in the local and state health inspectors to take a look at the mold. They can shut that place down for that. Hell, since you're moving out anyway you might as well call him.
Oh no I am going to call the health inspector just for fun. I will tell him what has been going on. and insist that he comes out and look in what state this aptment is in. should be fun
